Nematullah Ahangosh –
Activist, Poet, co-founder and trainer at Dupree Library – which is committed to empowering children and youth through education, nonviolence and storytelling.
Currently, scholar at Braille Without Borders – Kanthari, in Trivandrum, Kerala, South India, which offers a 12-month leadership program for visionaries who have overcome adversity and who are keen to drive ethical social change. Nematullah will also finish a 9-month Case Management Course in June offered by the University of Utah, and recently finished Bachelor of Social Work at Madras School of Social Work as a Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Scholar in India.
As an aspiring Afghan youth, Nemat strongly believes that nonviolence is the way forward to heal our human family. As a student of nonviolence he tries to give back to his community through education, poetry, and skill training. He worked with the JRS as a teacher at Shahrak, in Kabul, a camp for internally displaced Afghans fleeing from war. He has been volunteering with the Afghan Peace Volunteers (APVs) since 2014, particularly in teaching children nonviolent subject, #EarthGEN Campaign, social media management and organizing bi-monthly Zoom meeting for the APVs diaspora. He helped with organizing “Rainbow Cultural Diversity Summer Camp 2017”.
