Mysore: Model Press Conference, an activity of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Mysore was held on 22nd of Feb 2023. At the venue the students of first and second year, and the research scholars were present to attend conference. They had the chance to ask their questions as a practice of journalistic approach. The questions were posed for the Mysore City Police Commissioner, Mr. Ramesh B who was the guest of the conference. The local and international students have put their questions forward and the Commissioner has answered.

Ms. Prithika, a second year student from Nepal has asked if there was any helpline for international students in English language so they could solve their problem.
She received a ‘No’ but the commissioner explained that an international student can ask the person behind the phone to hand over the call to someone who speaks English.
A first year student asked if the digital billboard on the traffic circles or squares can be increased for the awareness of the public. The commissioner said that he will work on it.
“Organising such events has been a tradition of the department.” said Professor Sapna who is the chairperson of the department.
The postgraduate program offered by the department is a two-year Master of Arts (MA) degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
